The Business Power of Linkedin
Daniel Korenblum breaks down how LinkedIn decides who sees your posts. Most people focus on likes, comments, and reposts—but there are 8 more signals that can boost your reach.
The 3 Signals Everyone Knows:
✔ Likes – Basic engagement, but not the strongest signal.
✔ Reposts – Increases reach, but only if people engage.
✔ Comments – More valuable than likes; drives conversations.
🔹 1. Direct Messages
If someone DMs you, they’re 70% more likely to see your posts.
How to use it: Invite people to DM you by asking questions or offering insights.
🔹 2. Saving Posts
The top signal for LinkedIn’s algorithm.
How to use it: Post content people want to save for later—guides, lists, or deep insights.
🔹 3. General Clicks
Every click on your post increases engagement.
How to use it: Add clickable elements like images, carousels, and links in the comments.
🔹 4. View Time
The longer someone stays on your post, the better.
How to use it: Post infographics, carousels, and long-form content that keep people engaged.
🔹 5. New Connections
New connections get two weeks of boosted content.
How to use it: Keep adding relevant people and post consistently to take advantage of the boost.
🔹 6. External Shares
When people share your post outside of LinkedIn, your reach improves.
How to use it: Encourage sharing by creating valuable, highly shareable content.
🔹 7. Profile Visits
If someone visits your profile, they have a 50% chance of seeing your next post.
How to use it: Optimize your profile—strong headline, eye-catching banner, and clear call-to-action.
🔹 8. Frequent Views
People who regularly see your content will keep seeing it more.
How to use it: Engage with other creators consistently to build relationships and stay in their feeds.

How to Actually Get Leads on LinkedIn
Justin Dorfman breaks down how LinkedIn isn’t just for posting—it’s a tool for generating leads and building relationships.
If you’re only putting out content and waiting for leads, you’re doing it wrong. Here’s how to use LinkedIn effectively.
1. Post Regularly
At least 3 posts per week, ideally daily.
More posts = more visibility and engagement.
Keep it valuable—don’t just promote your product.
2. Engage With Others Every Day
Comment on 5+ posts daily. Likes aren’t enough.
Leave thoughtful comments to appear in more feeds.
Interact with prospects, customers, and influencers.
3. Message People Who Engage With You
If someone likes or comments on your post, DM them.
Say “Thanks for engaging! Great to connect.”
This makes them more likely to see your future posts.
4. Use LinkedIn for Outbound, Not Just Inbound
Cold emails = low response rates.
Instead of pitching, ask for feedback.
It builds trust and starts conversations.
5. Track Who’s Viewing Your Profile
Many people see your posts but don’t engage.
Use LinkedIn Sales Navigator to track profile views for 90 days.
These people already know you—start a conversation.
6. Repurpose Your Content
Turn LinkedIn posts into podcasts, videos, and newsletters.
Share clips from webinars or events.
The more formats, the more ways for people to find you.
7. Get Others to Amplify Your Reach
Send clips of interviews or podcasts to guests.
Encourage them to post on their profiles.
More people see your content without extra work.
8. Invest Time Daily
Block at least an hour every morning for LinkedIn.
Spend time posting, commenting, and messaging.
Check notifications and respond fast.
9. Go Beyond Self-Promotion
Talk about industry problems, solutions, and insights.
Join discussions and provide value.
People follow problem-solvers, not product pushers.
10. Build Long-Term Relationships
Use LinkedIn to nurture leads, not just close deals.
Stay visible so when they need a solution, they think of you.
It’s not about instant results—it’s about consistent effort.
How LinkedIn Decides Who Sees Your Post
Samantha McKenna explains how LinkedIn’s algorithm works and how to use it to your advantage. Just posting content isn’t enough. It’s about understanding who sees your posts and taking action to build your audience.
How LinkedIn decides who sees your posts
When you post, LinkedIn first shows it to some of your 1st-degree connections. If they like or comment, it starts surfacing it to their connections (your 2nd-degree network). If those people engage, it may reach a 3rd-degree audience.
Why your content isn’t reaching the right people
The chances of the same 2nd and 3rd-degree connections seeing your next post are low. If they’re not already following you, your content won’t regularly appear in their feed.
Turn LinkedIn engagement into warm leads
When someone in your ICP (ideal customer profile) engages with your content, don’t wait for them to come back. Send them a simple message:
"Thanks for engaging with my content, always nice to see new faces joining the conversation."
Now, they’re more likely to see your future posts, making them a warm audience.
How to convert profile views into connections
Your profile views are a goldmine. Many people check your page but don’t engage. If you’re not tracking this, you’re missing easy opportunities to connect.
The simple DM that gets you more LinkedIn reach
Engagement alone isn’t enough. Manually connecting with new people who engage with your content expands your reach. It removes the first two algorithm hurdles, making sure they see your next post.
Why LinkedIn engagement beats waiting for inbound
Posting content and hoping people reach out is like speaking at a conference and waiting at your booth. Instead, use engagement to start conversations and proactively build relationships.
Stop wasting your LinkedIn content
If you’re just posting and not doing outreach, follow-ups, or engagement strategies, you’re only using a fraction of LinkedIn’s potential.
If a prospect or lead viewed your profile but didn’t engage, message them. They were curious about you. Don’t let that interest go cold.
How to bypass LinkedIn’s algorithm hurdles
Every time you build a new connection from your engaged audience, you increase the likelihood that your next post will be seen by the right people.
Use LinkedIn like a sales pro, not a content creator
Sales isn’t just about posting. It’s about turning content engagement into conversations. Reach out, engage back, and use LinkedIn as a relationship-building tool, not just a content platform.
